Review | Sakura Kokoro Halal Japanese Skincare

Sunday 29 January 2017

The only time I had the chance trying out Japanese skincare was when I was so curious about why Jun Ji Hyun replaced Park Han Byul as the ambassador of Hado Labo skincare and I ended up buying trial kit for its most known moisturising line. Today, I have the opportunity to share with you guys about this line of skincare which is also from Japan, Sakura Kokoro Halal Skincare by H&N Cosmetics, carried by Ippin.com.my

About Sakura Kokoro:
H&N Cosmetic's halal skincare products are easy to use and gentle on the skin, aiming not only for Muslim women, but also for local Japanese and for those who have sensitive skin. Its packaging is lightweight and easy to take with you wherever you go.

Sakura Kokoro skincare contains natural ingredients including Yoshino cherry tree leaf extract, lactic acid bacilli and fermented soy milk, grape vine extract, and damask rose flower extract, with ability to lighten the skin and improve skin appearance to promote beautiful skin.

There are 4 products comprising this skincare line and I'm going to share with you guys 3 of them which includes the facial cleanser, moisturiser, and BB Cream. I've been on easy 3-step skincare in the morning for the past few months so getting into this line of skincare is truly easy.

Packaging:

Basically, all 3 products came with the same light white plastic tube with same sakura pattern on it. It's minimalistic i.e. clean-looking and doesn't seem so complicated which is just what I expected from a Japanese brand. You guys know I like this kind of packaging.

Application:

This is probably the gentlest facial cleanser I've tried in my life as it didn't even foam up not even a bit. However, this cleanser actually cleanses so well and doesn't make my skin feel dry after wash and if you're the type of person who always do deep cleansing at night and put on skincare before you sleep, I do think this is perfect as a morning cleanser. There's faint rose scent to it which is something I love in skincare products like cleansers and toners.

Apply thinly and evenly across your face in a circular motion.

Capacity: 50g

Packaging:

On the side of the boxes that the products came in, there's English product description, instructions and ingredients list printed for your convenience.

I asked the people from the store before, how Japanese skincare manufacturing date being marked on the product itself as there's only batch number printed at the bottom of the box and according to them, it's a must for a skincare company to print the expiring date for products with shelf life of 30 months and under which is most Korean skincare usually have but the regular shelf life for Japanese skincare is 5 years so it's not required for the company to print the dates on the packaging.

I guess through their customer service, it's possible for you to inquire regarding the actual manufacturing date but I always assume when I ordered skincare from the origin countries, the products usually came from fresh batch at least 3 months or less though that depends on the online stores you're ordering from.

Like I mentioned earlier, this moisturiser too came in same type of packaging but it's smaller compared to the cleanser though. Do note that the products are not sealed before opened so if you're planning not to use the products right away, consider not to open them as skincare are meant to be used within 12 months after opened.

Application:

It's mentioned in the product description that this an all-in-one moisturiser whereas you won't be needing to use essence, serum, lotion, emulsion or moisturiser as this is sufficient for your skin hydration. You can skip toner if you want but for me toner is my last step in cleansing and then I'll proceed with this gel moisturiser and be done with my morning skincare routine.

The texture is light, gel-like and I'm loving how quick the product being absorbed into my skin and there's not sticky feeling whatsoever. It gives me slight matte finish which is perfect for makeup application.

How to Use:
Apply a small amount over your face thinly. Apply 2 layers when it is used as foundation.

Capacity: 30g

Packaging:

There's English product description, instruction and ingredients list printed at the back of the box too and as for the plastic tube the product comes in, the opening is quite small as compared to its sister products' so it's easy to control the amount of product you want to squeeze out.

(Left) The shade is quite natural, I don't think it's too yellow nor too cool. When spread and blended out thinly, it gives natural matte finish.

Application:

This time, I was just using fingers to spread the BB cream on my skin and indeed it gives me smooth and natural looking finish. It does give slight coverage and I've tried layering the foundation before for more coverage but the finishes is actually still quite good and doesn't look cakey on me. It does makes my pores appear less too!

I'm No. 31 both in Laneige and Innisfree and NC40 in MAC so generally I'm medium to dark skin so the shade is slightly lighter than my natural skin tone but after few hours the shade blends nicely but doesn't turn ashy or makes my skin looks orange. Just to be safe, I did set my T-zone with a translucent powder and the whole look lasts for about 6 hours before I need to touch up again.

Overall, this 3-step skincare and makeup is quite good and sufficient especially those who's going for simple natural makeup for daily looks. I'd love to recommend this Sakura Kokoro line for skincare and makeup beginners as they're truly easy to apply and can save a lot of time for those who are on simple morning routine.

I guess that's all about Sakura Kokoro line that I want to share with you guys so I hope you enjoy reading this post!
