Review | LANEIGE White Plus Renew Bubble Cleanser

Wednesday 21 September 2016
On the previous post, I talked about a cleanser from Laneige that I finished in the last quarter of the year and as you probably expected seeing this review, indeed I purchased 2 at the same time so I am currently on the second bottle.

Product Description:
The mild, rich lather removes impurities lodged in the pores as well as makeup residue. The lather is based on skin-friendly amino acids, so it is ultra-mild on skin.
Reacts to dull, drab skin from the early cleansing stage.
Salicylic acid removes old skin cells, giving the face a brighter complexion.

How to use:
Pump once or twice over the palm and gently massage onto skin.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Yeast Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Salicylic Acid, Ascorbyl Glucoside, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Disodium EDTA, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Fragrance

Size: 150ml

Packaging:

The box in the same design as its sister products from the White Plus Renew line and of course, it has that round turquoise pattern to mark it's from that skincare line.

There's simple product description printed at the back of the box. The cleanser is good for 12 months after opened and there's a chance if you got yours in the US stores, you have different kind of packaging or product label but for Laneige stores in Malaysia, we got the exact product from Korean stores only in English-labelled packaging. The distributor sticker is the proof that I got this cleanser from Laneige counter in a department store i.e. Parkson most definitely in Suria KLCC, KL.

As for the bottle, it's a plastic bottle in that pretty soft turquoise colour. There's the same kind of product label and description printed at the lower part of the bottle for quick information.

The high point of the packaging is definitely the pump. It's similar to that of Skinfood Egg White Meringue Foam that you saw in my previous post and the foam pumped out is pretty similar in texture i.e. soft, meringue-like foam.

There's the manufacturing date printed at the bottom and I guess I better finish this bottle as Korean beauty products shelf life is 3 years.

Application:

Even the bubble appeared to be soft foam, when it's spread it's not like those cleansers that has light foam and feels less and wouldn't do much cleansing. The foam still feels heavy and able to cleanse my skin really well.

Toner test:

I washed a small area of my hand with the bubble cleanser and washed other area with other regular cleanser then using a toner, I wiped the area in one direction back and forth. As you can see, more dead skin cells are removed off the area where I used the cleanser compared to where I used my other cleanser.

Verdict:

There's Camellia Sinensis or widely known as Green Tea that's famous for its anti-oxidants function together with Yeast Extracts and Salicylic Acid to lift off dead skin cells. I guess these are working well doing their job for my skin.

The scent is quite strong for some people i.e. my friends who tried it but to me it's just like other Laneige products, I'm just loving that fragrance. I don't know if it'll bring harm or not but that's just me.

It's important to know that if you're using this cleanser during the day, you have to use a sunscreen as the last step for your skincare routine as once dead skin cells are sloughed off your skin, the new layer of skin cells are prone to get sunburn rather quickly or you can just use the cleanser for your night routine. Still, it's a must to use sunscreen or cushion foundation if you prefer, with high SPF - 30 and above.

Final verdict: 5/5. This is a perfect cleanser for me. The soft foam, how it works, the scent, among other things. Ah, I'm loving the pump!

The cleanser retailed at RM90 excluding GST. Do check out this product at your nearest Laneige counter to see if it works for your skin as I saw somewhere in the Internet that this can be too strong for those with sensitive skin.
